Status
UEPC is an international non-profit association (INPA) which represents national federations of developers and house builders.
It was founded in 1958 as an international association for scientific purposes.
It has, among others, observer status at EOTA (European Organisation for Technical Approval). It is frequently consulted by CEN (European Committee for Standardisation) and the SCC (Standing Committee for Construction).
UEPC is also a member of the European Construction Forum, of FOCOPE (Forum for Construction in the European Parliament) and one of the founding members of the European Housing Forum. Recently UEPC joined the Urban Housing Intergroup in the European Parliament.
UEPC is a member of the Monitoring and Steering Group in the Framework of the European Commission Study on the Competitiveness of the Construction Sector. Moreover UEPC plays an active role in the Working group on Better lawmaking through the Common Frame of Reference. UEPC is one of the stakeholders in the meetings on the EU Flood Management Programme and UEPC was closely involved in the work of the Group of Experts on Accessibility of the built Environment.
UEPC regularly voices its views at European Parliament hearings such as the Hearing on Flooding in January 2005, on Mortgage Credit on 7 December 2005 and more recently the ADHOC Meeting with Stakeholders on Mortgage Credit held on October 27th 2006.
Since 2008 UEPC is an official partner of the EPBD Buildings Platform.
